How does one go about getting time off work in the UK when anxiety and depression are really bad?
I don't mean to sound like a slacker (which I probably do)but I'm dreading the thought of going to work this week

Hi Tom,
You just need to get a sick note from your GP and present it to your employer.

I agree - just go to your GPs - and explain. He should be able to give you a sick note for your work. Loads of my friends have got sick notes for work, and for things like stress. An ex-boyfriend of mine got of work for like two months because he claimed he was allergic to computers! And he was a computer programmer! LOL.
