I've been seeing Lunesta floating around. Anybody want to comment on how it does for them? I take Ambien. Am getting pretty good sleep. Wake up twice a night on average. Usually hungry! (grrr)
What are your Lunestra experiences?
Thanks for sharing.

I've been taking Lunesta for a couple of months. I stay asleep longer on Lunesta than Ambien. I'm starting to think that I'm building up some tolerance and recently upped the dosage a bit.

I've never tried Lunesta. I take Ambien, and love it. I go to sleep quickly, which I never did before, and stay asleep for 6 hours, which is a good amount for me. I don't know if I'm supposed to be taking it every night or not.

w/ ambien, i fall asleep immediately, but get only 4 hrs to the second of sleep. i refuse to do the somewhat common doubling up - i.e. taking a 2nd at 4hrs.
lunesta didn't work at all. don't personally know anyone for whom it did. took me hours to fall asleep, woke up every 2 hrs w/trouble getting back to sleep. only thing i got out of it was rebound insomnia, even after my brief trial.

Lunesta is the only "sleep" medication I know of (in the same class as Ambien) that is not contraindicated for long term use. Ambien is only suppose to be used for 7-10 days. I've tried both, without success. For me, Ambien works well for 3-4 days and then bam, I am wide awake, every time! Lunesta was another story, I couldn't fall asleep and when I finally did it was restless sleep and I felt horrible the next day. But the worst part of Lunesta for me was the horrible taste the pill left in my mouth.
That's just my story though, I know each person reacts differently to each med. God Bless!
