Buproprion problem?

Posted by fires on June 4, 2005, at 13:29:15

I've been on buproprion SR, 300 mg for at least 6 weeks. I recently increased the dose to 450 mg.

I've been taking 450 mg for only a few days, yet I feel more tired and my mood is worse, my brain isn't functioning well, etc... I was doing so-so on 300 mg.

Is this likely to be due to bupropion? (I thought I might get agitated, anxious, or have terrible insomnia if 450 mg is too much)

Thanks

It could be. Try a dose of 350 for a bit, and if that isn't working move up to 400. 450 is a bit hard to handle!

Thanks. Since my post I've gone down hill quite a bit. I'm going to call my pdoc tomorrow and see if I can start up Effexor again , even if it may make me "hypomanic". Also, I have buproprion SR pills in the 150 mg size only. Is it OK to split SR pills?

In the last 48 -72 hours I've been going downhill fast toward severe depression.

It all started a few weeks ago with some GI problems. I took Pepto Bismol , which helped with my psych. and GI problems to some extent, but I seem to be overwhelmed right now. No matter what I eat I become worse after eating -- almost like having a cluster headache without the headache. I was told there was no such thing ,but someone recently posted me the following link:

I can't get the article without paying a lot of money.

I now this doesn't make sense to you, because it doesn't to me, just yet.
