My PCP refused to give me benzos at all, said they're too addictive. He said Buspar has been shown to help. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me what I may or may not expect while on this med. and your opinions on it. Thanks so much!@!!

Buspar was not effective at all for my anxiety problems. It is used mostly to augment anti-depressants.

I took it for a while. But since I was already on benzos and had taken them for years I was told it probably wouldn't work. It didn't do a thing for me. If you haven't taken benzos it may work but I've heard it has to be taken in higher doses than Rx'd. Fondly, Phillipa

all buspar did for me was make me dizzy. I took one tablet in morning---i actually had to set the alarm clock at around 5 am and take one and go back to sleep and then take one at night before bed---but it did zip for my anxiety. I also took it once to counteract sexual side effects from ad's==and that was the only thing it did for me-----the actions of buspar varies from person to person
