I was off benzos for 6 months and had serious anxiety and, photo=phobia, dr, and balance trouble the whole time. I think it was a withdrawal syndrome. I am at 40 mgs and sdo not want to go higher with this drug. Does anyone think that a crossover to Klonopin may help?? Or are all benzos the same as some claim, only difference being half-lifes? Valium has cleared my vision, taken away the dr but stilll have real anxiety issues and poor short term memory. I ask here because many claims institutions will not take you for this problem and I simply cannot do another prolonged detox alone at home.

Personally I didn't like klonopin. I prefer valium. But it's funny the l5mg a day doesn't seem to be working as well. Fondly, Phillipa

Two choices then it seems, up your dose, and how often you have to do that seems to vary person to person. Fast for me, my dose is pooping out in less than two months. Other choice, taper off and hope you are not part of the minority, like me, that has long term debilitating problems. I d not even feel a valium any longer. All it does, so far is keep me out of Alice in Wonderland, at least for now. Docs that prescribe these drgus long terms for anxiety without exhausting all other options should have their licenses pulled IMO. And it is funny, when the trouble starts most want to pull the scripts, put you back in Alice in Wonderland and tell you it is all psychological. We are living in a time a a real scandal and hopefully one day the lid will be completely blown off.
P.S. Some claim Klonopin is more effective on anxiety/panic, though I think my strange sensations while walking may be permanent. Started with benzos, does not abate on or off them. But let us all keep surviving, is why we are here, right?

My pdoc wouldn't up the dose. And AD's don't work for me. Is Larry Hoover's niacinamide the answer? He says it works for anxiety. Fondly, Phillipa
