Currently taking Effexor 75mg/XR; will start weaning next Monday.
Doctor gave me 37.5/mg tablets & 25/mg. tablets to be taken once a day.
Won't my system "crash" after 12 hours on tablets being taken just once a day?
Has anyone used tablets and weaned off successfully?
If I purchase a pill cutter will cutting the tablets be easy enough?

I went from 75 mg. XR capsule down to a 37.5 mg. tablet taken once a day without any problem. (I can't promise that will be your experience however.) I then decreased by quarter of a pill very slowly. Do you have any Prozac or another SSRI or even Cymbalta to add in at the end? That was critical for me. I didn't start to have any major problems until I went off of the last quarter of a pill. When I started having problems I took a small amount of Cymbalta for a few days and the withdrawal symptoms went away. Good luck to you!K

Though I stopped taking E(XR) cold turkey in September, it makes sense to me that tablets is the best way to wean off the stuff. You can take as much of the tablet as you need as often as you need to, to ward off the withdrawal symptoms. If you need more tablets, just call your doctor. That way you can cut back as slowly as your body needs you to. It makes a lot more sense to me than trying to take little balls out of the capsules. Give it a try and see.
