Hi - I read on an earlier post that some people experienced "agitation" on Luvox. My DS has been experiencing the same problems lately. Actually, he seems to become almost "manic" when he gets too high of a dose of any SSRI. He experienced this last year on Zoloft.
We recently lowered his dose to 12.5 mg once a day. His behavior has improved a bit, but he is still "edgy". That and his anxiety/OCD is resurfacing again.
The thing is, when it worked, it was great. On the zoloft DS's tic surfaced. He didn't have the tic on the Luvox and his OCD completely went away.
Now my question is, for those of you who have been there, did you have to completely go off the Luvox for the "agitation" to go away or could another med be added to balance it out? If you did have to go off the Luvox, what other SSRI did you try and did any help as much with the OCD and did you get agitated as well?
I'm looking for any advice as I take DS to his pdoc on Thursday and would like to have some idea as where we should go.
One suggestion from pdoc in the past has been geodon, but I'm a little concerned about that since it is so new.
Any advice?

If the SSRI's are triggering mania and he also has agitation, seems to fit BipolarII.
Luvox sent me to the ER with tachycardia so I don't have much positive input there.Phil
