When do sexual side effects go away?

Posted by NeilKramer on December 10, 2004, at 16:39:57

I took my last Lexapro on Sunday or Monday, and started taking Remeron on Monday night. I didn't have a libido on the Lexapro and I still don't have it and was hoping the Remeron wouldn't have that problem. Does it just take some time for Lexapro to get out of your system? Any feedback would be appreciated. Best.

ironically, at 150 MG of Effexor for 5 years I suffered extreme anorgasmia. I recently read articles about how an increase in the med can alleviate sexual problems and Anorgasmia. I increased my dosage to 225 MG and amazingly it actually has seemed to fix the problem. The low libido is still there but the anorgasmia and loss of feeling while having an orgasm have seemed to go away as I increased the meds. Something about stabilizing the body as u increase the med, certain chemicals actually then start to do their job.........in the case of Effexor I believe it is the Norepenephrin that kicks in. Hope this gives u a little hope buddy.......................

Good Luck,

I've noticed the sexual side effects have gone away now that I'm on Remeron. It took a little while for the Lexapro to get out of my system, I suppose. So far, I have no problem with appetite, and there are times that I'm feeling better. My sleep is disrupted, which is unfortunate. Remeron is supposed to be good for sleep. I've been on the Remeron a week.
