Hi there,
I posted before about developing tolerance withdrawal symptoms to Ativan after taking it for two months at 0.5mg/day. The middle of November was when the symptoms were at their worst but I'm still feeling icky here and there. I am very concerned about something though: My period was due one week ago and I'm never late for my period. Never more than a day at least. I know that I'm not pregnant so I'm wondering if the ativan withdrawals could have altered my horemones or something. Have you ever heard of this happening? Another thing is that when the symptoms were very bad I barely ate for about a week because I felt so sick. So maybe that could be part of it. I'm just really worried about this and wondering if the ativan withdrwals could have caused this. Once again, I am certain that I am not pregnant.

Stress can throw your hormones off thus your period and withdrawal would certainly be a form of stress to mind and body. In 1 week if you still haven't started I would get tested but I bet that its the withdrawal..Good Luck!!!

It might be related to something else besides the Ativan. 0.5mg/day is a very low dose. If you're not pregnant, maybe it was something You've been eating. I only ask because I'm hypersensitive to foods myself.

Not eating can affect periods, although I hadnt heard of it happening so quickly, after one week of poor eating. But it is logical if you think about it--if your body is starved, it (your body) doesnt make readying your uterus for conception its highest priority.
I actually just went through an opposite situation--after years of a regular period it came 10 days early twice in a row, and I had other irregularities. I was wondering in my case if it was the Cymbalta--thats when it started.
But I doubt it is something to worry over too much--our hormonal systems are quite snsitive to stress and other changes, usually ajusts shortly.
This is the end of the thread.
