I have just been put on Effexor XL to treat my social anxiety.
I'm very dubious at to Effexors efficiency, but the doctor assured me it was "the dogs bollocks".I'd just like to know what peoples experiences with Effexor have been like, has it helped anyones social anxiety?
How long will I need to take it before I know whether it will work or not?Any help apreciated!

Effexor made a big difference for me as far as social anxiety goes. I got the most benefit when I reached the 150mg dosage. I am now giving Cymbalta a trial, but I'd say that you should experience some improvement, if it will help YOU with SA, in 3 to 5 weeks. I also took and continue to take 1.5mg clonazepam for general anxiety and to improve my sense of well-being at night. Good luck! I think it's a powerful and effective drug if it "agrees" with you.
