I am taking prozac, neurontin, remeron and buspar.
A few months ago, I started stratterra at 18mg twice a day but did not notice much relief, if any, from my concentration, focusing and short term memory problems. I did notice I would get dizziness when I rose to standing quickly during exercise but I thought this was just a sign of old age. (I am 49.)
To see if I could determine if stratterra was helping me at all, after a few months I upped the dose to 40mg twice a day. It has been 9 days since the increase and now I frequently get longer-lasting dizzy spells, including increased dizziness from getting up quickly.
I also sometimes get temporary dizziness from buspar but this seems to coincide with my increase in stratterra.
I definitely have the urination problem too.
Anybody else get dizzy?

Hi,
Atomoxetine can cause postural hypotension (orthostatic hypotension). This is when the blood pressure drops when you stand up- it can cause dizziness and occasionally fainting. Stand up slowly and hold on to something.
Atomoxetine can also cause difficult urination, urinary retention and sometimes painful urination. Painful ejaculation is also a side effect.
Regards,
Ed.

Hi,
I'm not sure whether they will go away in time.

I have had dizziness from Strattera. I noticed that if I ate a little something when I took it (at least a small snack), I wasn't dizzy. Maybe that would help?
Good luck!

I would be unable to breathe and become very weak upon exertion, worse in the summer months. It was very disturbing. I could find no one else who had this or anything in the literature about this as a side effect. I don't even know what you would call it but it greatly interferred with my life as I do alot of exertional things. That sounds weird, what I mean is I ride difficult horses for long distances and do my own hoof trimming. This not being able to catch my breathe I am sure was from the strattera. I had it before when I took wellbutrin (briefly!) so I guess it is too much norepinephrine for me.

Thanks for the input. I've noticed the impacts on my physical exertion of not being able to work-out as long or hard at the gym, and getting totally winded and dizzy climbing the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment when it used to be no problem.
This is the end of the thread.
