Hello,
Since starting zyprexa, my craving for sweets is huge. The cravings are starting to become insatiable. I have gained weight. Grrrr

I gained 40 pounds in 3 months on Zyprexa. My advice is to get off it, but slowly

i was on zyprexa for 6-7 weeks and gained 18 pounds. my cravings for sugar were out of control - i couldn't get enough.
i switched to geodon, which doesn't work as well but is in the same family of medicines. i'm finally losing the weight, but my advice is to get off zyprexa as soon as you can (weight gain is inevitable).

Amen to the two postings above. I was put on Zyprexa once, why I have no idea 'cause it was extremely counterproductive for me (History: Major Depression (atypical), OCD, ED and SAD)).
I lay on the couch for about a week and the only time I got up was to go get something sweet to eat. I went off after 5 days - it was HORRIBLE.

The combination of sweet cravings and exhaustion is driving me bonkers after only two days. Except for Gabitril, this is the fastest-acting psycho-med I've ever tried. I don't know if I'll last much longer on it. If I still feel this way next week, I'm going to tell the psych that I have to back off.
This is the end of the thread.
