Hello!!!
I've always thought that a liquid form of Effexor is the least that the public should ask for. Here in England we don't have one, do you???
I strongly believe that a liquid Effexor would make the process of withdrawal much easier for 1000s of people. Very gradual reduction of dose would be so much more practical.
I suppose the introduction of Effexor liquid might be seen as an admission on the part of Wyeth that withdrawal can be very difficult. Here is what Wyeth says about withdrawal (in the UK)...'The majority of symptoms experienced on withdrawal of Effexor are non-serious and self-limiting'.
Perhaps someone should start a petition for Liquid Effexor. I don't know, perhaps there already is one?

It seems that people have success if they take Prozac during the Effexor withdrawal period.

Hi Bill.......
It's true, Prozac can be a useful tool during withdrawal but not everyone would want to transfer to a different drug, especially if they'd taken Prozac before and been unable to tolerate it. Plus it could be difficult to find the minimum dose of Prozac that would effectively reduce the withdrawal symptoms to an acceptable level. Use of an excessive dose of
Prozac might cause adverse effects. Also, every time somone is exposed to a new drug there are risks eg. allergic reactions. If Wyeth had any decency they would introduce a liquid formulation to help people withdraw. All the best,
Ed.PS. I don't take Effexor anymore but many people do. If you are reading this and you take Effexor, tell me your opinions!

Hey I agree with you that wyeth needs to come up with something to make withdrawl easier. I am personally not willing to start another drug to get off this one. I shouldnt have to. I am currently still taking the med because I am scared to stop. I have a dr apt tommorow and hopefully they can help. But since dr s know about as much as we do then they probably wont be able to do anything.

Shalom, I came off Effexor without tapering and was lucky because my withdrawal symptoms were tolerable. It was just that, luck, it's got nothing to do with whether or not I am 'soft.' Many people are not so lucky and deserve to have a liquid form of Effexor to help them taper.
