I started Effexor 37.5 mg starter pack and felt wonderful! then went to the 75 MG dose...I did o.k but started having my anxiety attacks again and after the third week on the 75mg, I felt irritable again, no motivation...like before. My doctor moved me to 150mg dose....THe first day I took it, I thought I was loosing my mind! I was hot, sweating, tired, horrible headache(but I have migraines,,so) I was shaking, irritable, mean, very anxious! he prescribed Xanax..that just knocked me out, the next day The same thing, so I called again and asked for something toher than the Xanax for the anxiety. they sent Ativan, did not work wonders, but did not knock me out. This is day three and It is not quite as bad, but I still and dizzy, a little irritable, hot, no energy...any suggestions, opinions....give it time? to much of a dose???Anything

I had a similar experience just simply moving from 37.5 to 75mg. but then after a couple of weeks I evened out nicely at 75mg. So maybe the same thing will happen with you at 150mg. I agree, that rapid heart beat and irritability thing sucks.
Now that I've been on 75mg. for a couple of months now, I'm back to no therapeutic effect and only headaches and insomnia. WHAT A WEIRD DRUG!
