Medications

I have been on Seraquil for insomnia but have gained too much weight so my psyc. put me on Trazadone, how do they compare for insomnia. I am also on Effexor and Lamactal. I have biplar disorder but do not have the typical symptoms, sometimes I wonder if the meds are the really what I need. I could use some guidiance.

Thanks

Trazodone is definitely sedating and is a pretty effective insomnia med. It is not as sedating as Remeron, and probably not as sedating as Seroquel, either, but it is likely better in the weight gain department than either of these.
