Hi, one simple question:
Just like AD, could a prolonged and continued use of Benzo cause loss/reduce of libido (less sex desire) or could numb emotions and feelings?
I'm on clormetildiazepam (long life BDZ) since 1 year and i suffer of those disease.
I thought they could be caused by depression .... but now i'm not completely sure!
Thanx for your share.

I have been on Ativan for years and it never messed with my libido. THe emotions thing is tricky because I was drowning myself in alcohol until 10 months ago, so I don't think I could answer that until I have more sobriety under me and until I get fully clear of the cocktail of crap(Depakote, Zyprexa, Lexapro) that they had me on.

I use a benzo and have used it long term. I have not noticed these effects. The question of could this happen I think would vary person to person. Discussion with your doctor and maybe lowering your dose could help.

Hello: I use Klonopin and have not noticed those side effects. In fact, I felt a little more disinhibited at first, and more at ease sexually, since my anxiety had been interfering before.
I have not heard that this is a side effect of benzo's, but it may well indicate depression.
Good luck.
