Effexor is making some of my OCD behaviors like compulsive skin picking and other nervous habits worse. I've seen no major improvement in going from 150mg to 225mg which happened about 2 weeks ago. What's available out there to treat OCD and how well has it worked for yours? I also have GAD and PPD.
Thanks!
Colleen

Hi, I have severe OCD and have tried just about every med you can think of to control it.
Most of my research and most doctors recommend an SSRI and it usually has to be at a higher dose than to treat depression and it takes longer to see results for OCD.
If you don't mind what are some of your OCD symptoms? I am struggling with unwanted, intrusive thoughts which is a form of OCD along with other symptoms. Just want to know what other OCD suffers deal with.
Some good resources to check out on the web is go to www.healthboards.com and scroll down to OCD and there is alot of information there. Also you can go to google and type in OCD foundation and click on there website and there is a multitude of information there.
Hope this helps.

Luvox and Paxil have helped the most in controlling OCD symptoms for me. The two worst were Lexapro and Celexa.
