Is Xanax less sedating than Klonopin?
I was taking .5mg Klonopin once daily but the sedation and ataxia wasn't subsiding, so my doc has me trying XanaxXR .5mg once daily and I think it's working just as well as Klonopin did but without the sedation or ataxia. I don't know if I'm imagining things so I'm asking others who have taken Xanax and Klonopin.

Hey! All benzo takers have their favorites...kind of like everyone has a favorite color. Anyway, Xanax is GREAT because it does have anti-depressant properties, which is why docs use it so often in the mildly depressed and very anxious. Klonopin, on the other hand, can CAUSE depression, as can some other benzos. But, then again, some hold that it is less addictive than Xanax (I doubt this would apply to XR Xanax), so klonopin is kind of the "IT" benzo right now.

I've heard many doctors say they prescribe Xanax XR much more than Klonopin because of Klonopin's hangover, sluggish feeling. I've taken both and Xanax XR (1mg BID) was much better I thought.
