Adderall gets the heart going pretty fast. I was wondering about Desoxyn. I read that Desoxyn does NOT cause as much of a heart rate increase as Adderall. Is this true?
Also, I read conflicting reports about how long desoxyn lasts. Some say 12 hours, some say 5. What is the actual length of time Desoxyn lasts?

Desoxyn is only manufactured in 5mg IR tabs(Ovation Pharmaceuticals) now and lasts 4- 5 HRs, I have a sever Narcoleptic friend-aged Sixty, who takes 4-5mgIR tabs 4x a day,(80mgs daily)where he previously (when they were being made) took 4 or 5 15mg SR tabs Called 'gradumets'upon rising, which would keep him awake all day, 12 hrs. They worked very well for him, and allowed him to function almost normally for forty years. He is less happy with the IR tabs and has had to combine it with 600mg of Modafinal, His monthly drug bill runs to $1400-1500.
-Yes I have Advertising material here circa_1951 form Eli Lilly Advertising their, 'Amphedroxyn hydrochloride', products (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride)2.5mg and 5mg tabs, plus in liquid form, 2.5mgs per 5 mls in 100ml bottles{later to become known as 'Methedrine'} which states:
--"Amphedroxyn is often preferable to other forms of Amphetamine, because smaller doses produce longer cerebral stimulation with a minimum of undersirable side effects. when patients with:
--Depression
--Narcolepsy
--Alcoholism
--Obesity
are selected as suitable cases for stimulant therapy, 'Amphedroxyn' brand of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, is a prudent choice of drug".-1951If it where not for the abuse this compound has had in the past(late 1960s?) and illegal manufacture of more refined forms now, (Crank)
this excellent medicine may very well be improving the lives of thoes people who are on treatments which are less than well controlling their symptoms of ADD, Narcolepsy, and other disorders.Cheers
