I was on Effexor 150 mg, but I was too hyper( both brain and psychomotor) at times. I'm now on 112.5 mg and I'm ok -- until I do something physically active.
Is there such a thing as exercised induced hyperactivity? due to Effexor, or any other meds?
Help please. :)

Exercise causes a release of norepinephrine. Taking effexor will block the reputake of that release, causing the release to be more intense.
This could be an explaination.

Thanks. I wanted to be prepared for my Thurs. Pdoc appointment. Can you speculate if that might mean I need an even lower dose of Effex.?
Titrating up I didn't see a response until 150 mg, but maybe since I was increasing the dose every 4 to 5 days, I overshot my "real" dose by a whole bunch (was up to 225 mg, but it was definitely too much).

I would say that if you have it in your schedule to exercise on a regular basis, then you might do better on less. I found that when I took effexor, exercise greatly enhanced the effect, and I needed less, that is why your post interested me.

Thanks for info. My hyperness is not pleasant, as I become impatient and somewhat irritable.
I definitely think we overshot my best dose due to the urgency of my situation. Maybe I'll end up at 75mg, which is what my resident doc says is right for many people.
bye
