Weaning off Effexor

I want to start weaning off Effexor. I only take 37.5 mg/day. I just am not sure where to begin. I've heard of taking some of the dots out of the capsule or moving down to the children's dose of 25 mg, but I'm not sure what to do. I've skipped a day before and withdrawal sets in right away, so that's not an option.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would try switching to Prozac 10mg/day & then go off that instead.

Do you stop the Effexor all at once after you start taking the Prozac or wean down while you're on Prozac?

I would try that first & see how it goes. Prozac should cover most of the withdrawl symptoms, if it doesn't, I would split some 37.5mg capsules of Effexor in half & take them for a few days combined with Prozac.
