Well, I have been off of Ativan for 3 months and Geodon for 2 months and some days are so unbareable. Does it get better? I know that I am going thru drug withdrawal but it is so hard. Just wondering if any of you have gone thru withdrawal? For how long? What did you do to deal with anxiety and symptoms?
Thanks,
Jennifer

I went into a center for treatment of alcoholism and they also took away my ativan. It took a couple of months for the bad withdrawals to go away. My problem was that they put me on all sorts of psychotropics that made me feel real weird as well. So out of fear that I was losing my mind I went back on Ativan and now I am going through wicked withdrawals from the psychotropics. It is a terrible cycle. I don't mean to be a downer, but I guess the point I am trying to make is why did you go off the ativan to begin with? Was it working for you?

It is just withdrawal that I am going thru. I should have never went on these drugs in the first place. My life seems ruined now and I can't get it back. I know that I am in the early stages but this is living hell. I constantly think that I am going to get tardive dyskinesia among other things. Medicine never really helped me at all. Plus, I would like to have a baby in the near future and wanted to be off all meds. I was addicted to Ativan and they had to take me off. I also was on an antipsychotic and wanted off b/c of the risk of getting EPS and TD.

Did they ween you off of Ativan or did they just make you go cold turkey? They made me go cold turkey and it was pure hell.

I was wondering what symptoms you are having coming off ativan as i have been weaning myself off of it for the past few days and have had terrible headaches and cold - like symptoms, sore throat, etc.

Well, the good doctors yanked it from me and made me go cold turkey, which was a complete nightmare. Horrible anxiety, dizziness, disorientation. I am back on it now, but if and when I go off it will be much slower and deliberate. I never had symptoms like you are having, but everyone is different.
