can't get Klonipin!!!!

Posted by AntiTrust on May 16, 2004, at 9:34:35

My Pdoc will not give me a script for Klonipin!
she says it would make my depression worse-but the depression isnt in the fore front of my mental problems. therapist told me she propabably wont RX that because in my state it is a 'triplicate' and is addicting and seeing my insurance only covers visits to a 'mental health center' I am stuck................sigh

klonipin WORKS FOR ME TOO!!!!!!

Well, try an anti depresant that really sedates you like remeron thats a doozy. Also Buspar. Or find another Doctor somehow. Try your primary care practiconer.

hello, chemist here...i beg to differ in re: buspar (especially) and remeron being sedating. although there are plenty of posts that indicate that remeron is a closer fit, buspar is not going to offer sedating properties. my *opinion* is to look into (yes, folks, this is contrary to my stance in prior posts, but there appears to be a raodblock here) trazadone or a small dose of seroquel (e.g., 25 to 50 mg hs)....just my two-cents...all the best, chemist

I am sorry that you can't get the Klonopin. Having chronic anxiety and panic attacks is depressing. Have you tried any antidepressants? There are a lot of meds out there. Don't give up. Ask for alternative medications to help you cope with your symptoms.

Chemist,
I was on Remeron and it made me really sedated. And it made me eat a lot also.

Hi:
I too found Remeron EXTREMELY sedating. I was "out of it" for about 3 weeks, couldn't even drive, so dizzy. My husband said I was like a drunk most of the time! My speech was slurred. And I wanted to eat all the time. It's the worst drug I've EVER been on, by far. It was sedating at all dosages 15mg 30mg and 45mg. Because it hits the Histamine 1 receptor first, it's first effect is to sedate. Then, at doses of 30mg it begins to affect other neurotransmitters. Some people find it more sedating at a very low dosage, because the only or main neurotransmitter to be affected is Histamine. So for sleep, just take about 7mg!
After doses reach about 30-45g, other neurotransmitters begin to counteract the heavy Histamine response. But for me, it was still very sedating.
And I agree with Chemist...Buspar has no sedating properties whatsoever.....been on that one too!
Take care.
Jas
