I have anxiety and depression but possibly thought maybe BP11 so doc gave me Lamactil. The first day I felt "normal" it was strange.Felt less energized and agitated . Anyway , I got the rash so had to stop and gabitril made me feel psycho energy. Are there any other options and how do I know if I am BP11?

Have you tried Depakote? Trileptal? Those are options for BP II. Lithium certainly is too.
BTW, what type of dosing schedule did you follow that proceeded you getting the rash?

You didn't say how bad your rash was or how quickly it resolved. If you try everthing else and just can't find a good fit, then you might want to consult a dermatologist along with your pdoc and explore the option of a retrial with Lamictal at a slower titration (what was your starting dose and how fast did you increase?). Scary proposition, I know, and not to be undertaken without a lot of thought. But if all else fails....

Have you tried Neurontin?

Hey,
Sorry to hear about your rash w/ lamictal. I consider the above posts for your issues quite insightful. Neurontin alone won't do much, but in conjuction with lithium would be a good start. As for finding out if you are bipolar 2, see your pdoc. If you disagree, get a second opinion. A dermatologist is a good idea, too, if you go back on it.
Best of luck,
There are a lot of options for bipolar, and eventually you will find the right cocktail.Man-oh-man
