Hi All,
I'm getting ready to start Paxil and am very hesitant. While on Effexor I had w/drawals and when I stopped Effexor i had even more horrendous w/drawals. I then went onto Zoloft and stopped after three months and had even worse w/drawals. This was all a year ago prior to my bipolar dx.Does anyone know if you experience or have the sensitivties to the serontonin w/drawals that you'll experience it w/ every AD? I didn't experience it w/ Serzone or Celexa.
Don't know if I can go thru' that again.
And Paxil users, anyone had success on Paxil? And not gain weight as well?
Thanks!
Katia

In reply to Paxil users w/drawal as common as Effexor?, posted by katia on April 30, 2004, at 14:16:11
I had good results in mood with Paxil, but had to stop due to an increase in headaches. That you were able to stop Celexa without a problem may suggest that not all SSRIs' result in a discontinuation syndrome in you, although Paxil is one of the SSRI's frequently associated with problems on stopping (NOT in all people). One question, are you on a mood stabilizer as well, as all ADSs can potenially convert you to a manic or hypomanic state?

Yes,
I"m on Trileptal 450mg. I may not take the paxil. I'm feeling better today. My anxiety is lessening too. But I definitely have my down moments. It cycles so quickly. Not sure what's what. I just started my period today so the ending of PMS can bring my mood more stable.
I don't want to overmedicate.
thanks-
Katia
