My tongue has started to twitch off and on throughout the day, and I'm scared stiff that it might be Tardive Dyskenisia caused by the 10 mg Zyprexa I've been taking for the past several months. (It feels like a weak electrical current has been applied to the tip of my tongue, causing it to contract involuntarily. It's not very bothersome, but I do notice it.) My problem is that I have tried scores of drugs without success, and Z has been the only one that really works for my anxiety and insomnia. Finally, some relief from the suffering. Also, I know my shrink will likely think I am imagining things if I say my tongue is twitching. I just don't know what to do.

Weather or not your doc thinks you are imagining things or not, is NOT the point - the fact is that If it is disturbing you enough to be concerned about it and possible TD! Then by all means -call him and let thim know-don't let it progress. They may tell you it will pass ot may tell you that-they want you to be on the look out for any other wierd or abnormail twitches or strange bodily movements. There is a test called the A.I.M.S. which equates to >>> Anti-psychotic -Involutary -Movement - Scale-. it is possible that it is a transitory S/E but none the less I would def let your doc know about it!

I think thats not Tadrdive Dys. Its "Acute neuroleptic-induced dyskinesia". The only thing to do is to reduce dosage or cease the drug at all. This type is responsive to anticholinergic and antihistaminergic drugs. But I dont know which drugs these are in detail.Roland
PS: Soyy that I cant post a reference, because I have this from a full featured paper which is copyright protected and costs money to view, normally :)
Paper name "The current status of tardive dyskinesia" from backwell synergy
