Fatigue with Lexapro/Altovis?

Posted by Donia on March 3, 2004, at 0:45:34

Hello all. I have been on lex two years now and just increased to 20mg a few months ago. I am a lazy butt!! I have been pretty much since I started it. I looked up a new non prescription for fatigue. It is called Altovis. Has anyone heard of it and is it safe to take with lexapro? It has caffeine, ginseng and B vitamins. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I am drinking 8 cans of pepsi a day and still sleeping late and napping. Of course I do have my days and nights mixed up too and cant seem to fix this.

I don't know about Altovis but my fatigue on Lexapro never went away. Took it for 8 months. I had hairloss that I never connected to the drug until I started reading about it. Also, weight gain, flattening of emotions, libido dampening, loss of appetite, headaches and more. No more AD for me.

I saw an ad for altovis and I'm thinking of trying that too. Those ingredients should not be a problem to take with antidepressants (except maybe MAOI's)I'm on Zoloft and am thinking of switching to Lexapro. How do yo like it? Any sexual side effects? (If you don't mind me asking)

Hi, I think I have alot more fatigue with the lexapro than I did with zoloft. I quit zoloft after 6 months because of horrible night sweats. Zoloft definately had more side effects at first than the lexapro did. As for sexual side effects, the zoloft was definately worse. I had the sexual side effects with zoloft for 3 months. With lexapro I had them for about a month. It seems to me that my husband and I have to work on this and take a little more time for me and the side effect goes away. I started with 10mg of lex and increased a few months ago to 20mg. It seems to work about the same at 20 as it does at 10, only I think more fatigue. It does help, but I am so stinken tired. I personally think the zoloft worked better, if you like being more numb with your feelings. I feel like my feelings are more normal with the lex, I just dont get so out of whack about the little things.

I have been taking Lex for a week or so and seem to have only brief periods of drowsiness. Lasts maybe an hour at best. It is hard to get going in the AM as well. Try to do stretches and a little low impact exercise. It will help immensely. :)
