Hello,
I'm currently in vancouver, Canada undergoing rTMS. I've been through 10 treatments (two a day for a week). Strangest thing occured, ever since the first day, I've had marked insomnia. The worst insomnia I've ever had. It could be due to the combination of my current drug regime and the effects of rtms. I'm currently on prozac 10 mg and T3. Anywayz, the procedure itself is painless and actually feels sorta nice.

As rTMS is still regarded as experimental, you should really bring this to the attention of your treating docs. If it is a new pattern for you, it's entirely possible it's related to the treatment.

I had rTMS at the clinic in Vancouver last month (20 sessions over 2 weeks). It definitely made my chronic insomnia worse during the treatment, though seemed to get better after I got home. Didn`t help my depression any. For me, the treatments were excruciatingly painful. The 2nd week was better than the 1st but still hurt A LOT, like someone was drilling nails into my skull. Just an FYI for those considering the treatment-the brochure says it`s painless-NOT!!!!! (for some people). They didn`t really have an answer as to why it hurt me so much-said it might be because they had to use a higher intensity stimulation because I`m on clonazepam. Cecilia

IT all depends on the treatment clinic and the parameters they use.
Both me and my mother (chronic insomniacs) Mother addicted to 60mg of Temazepam, and 9mg of bromazepam daily. Found profound sleep enhancing effects with the by using 10 hz over left prefrontal cortex.
