DA Agonist Trivastal (Piribedil)

Posted by garylee on June 29, 2003, at 14:00:48

Hi

Has anyone heard of or taken Trivastal (Piribedil)? It is a Dopamine Agonist made by Servier France (the makers of the infamous Amineptine). It has D2/D3 receptor action, but more interestingly it has 'noradrenergic properties'.

I'm currently taking 4.5mg of Mirapex (along with lamictal, klonopin, seroquel and sulpiride) with pretty good results, it has really helped with my anhedonia and the depression side of things. But the noradrenergic properties of Trivastal really interests me, and I'm considering a trial run swap with the Mirapex. Could possibly help with the anxiety aspect?

Any thoughts anyone may have let us know!

Cheers

Gary

Ontario, canada.

Guess Not.

The alerting effect of Noradrenaline, can relieve anticipitory anxiety in that it tends to bring the attention into the present.

However you might need to research the extent to its effect cause too much can make on jittery.

Good Luck

Hi Jodeye

Thanks for the link - I'd actually just read that same article just before I read your post!

I really want someone who has had any experiences with Trivastal, but being an obscure French drug there probably won't be anyone who has!

Going to order some anyway, may as well have a go?!

Cheers

Gary

Gary-can I ask how the Mirapex works for you - and what you take it for? I'm thinking of asking my pdoc about it to get me out of severe apathy and lethary, etc.....

Thanks!
Jerry

That may be how they do it, but they don't explicitly say so on their site, so I'd rather they not be linked to here, thanks,

Bob

I will likely be evaluating Piribedil soon myself, so if you haven't found anything yourself yet...
