To bft regarding Klonopin use

Posted by KellyD on February 19, 2004, at 8:06:53

Thank you for your comments regarding Klonopin. This way of thinking isn't common... except in those who suffer and find relief. We are fortunate when we find supportive docs who will "allow".
I get frustrated defending my use of Klonopin. Isn't a mental illness bad enough without having additional stigma heaped on due to the choice of treatment? Being called an addict is insulting and simply not true.
Studies bear out what you say, but they are overlooked due to years of negative information. Benzo's are not without their concerns, but that can be said of any drug. I understand the concerns. Approiate use, information and supervision are the key.
Thanks again.

Kelly, I couldn't agree with you more. Thankfully, there are psychiatrists out there who understand and are not afraid to use benzodiazepines.
