Lexapro side effects

Posted by Brown eyed girl on January 24, 2004, at 17:34:48

Hi Im just wondering who to believe, My doctor says there are little side effects but I was just on a site that had people telling their horror stories of Lexapro. I have been on it for 1 week and have had some mild side effects, nauseausness, dizziness if I stand up quickly, insomnia. My question is to the people out there who have been on it for a while. Does it get better or worse the longer you take it. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hi Brown Eyed Girl,

I've been on 10 mg lex for 31 days now. Let me assure you the side effects do get better. Some of them are uncomfortable, but tolerable. Most side effects go away by week 5 or 6.

I encourage you to post on the site whenever you encounter a side effect that worries you, because chances are very high you'll meet someone who experienced the same thing. This will help you get few the first several weeks and before you know it you'll be feeling great!

K.

I agree with K-Lex it should soon go away. I had a queasy stomach and some dizziness but it went away within a few weeks. Insommnia, I had it very bad before using Lex, now I still have it sometimes but not nearly as bad. Good luck.
