Rash on neck- Neurontin/Lamictal??

Posted by contemplative1 on January 16, 2004, at 13:13:10

I have been taking 50Mg (very small dose) of Lamictal for 2 months and started Neurontin 600Mg at night about 2 weeks ago and this morning I woke up with a dry rash on my neck and wonder if this could be the infamous Lamictal rash or something to do with the recent Neurontin addition.

Please, anyone, who has any ideas please share and I will contact my doctor as well.

Hi,

No, it is more likely to be what they call the *mini-rash*. It happens occasionally with another anticonvulsant. However i would call my doctor to inform him. The cream Cortate (a topical corticosteroid) is very good and fast to heal that.

I just started this drug and the box says that you can get a rash that is no big deal just a rash. But it also says that this could be a different rash that is extremely serious and potentially deadly. I don't want to scare you but I wanted you to see this asap. Remeber it said a rash could be nothing or it could be serious so it doesnt necesarily mean its the serious one BUT you have to call doctor immediatley just to make sure.

Thank you Ian32 and Maximus
