for over sleeping - daytime drowsiness - and an overwhelming need for daytime naps. tried Provigil and it made me agitated, anxious, and increased my temper. It did however work for my problems, the side effects just aren't tolerable.
ideas?
thanks

Hmm... you may want to consider an amphetamine (Adderall, Dexedrine, DextroStat, Desoxyn), magnesium pemoline (Cylert), or one of the many forms of methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Metadate) available, though your unusual reaction to Provigil suggests to me that you may find these meds intolerable as well. And there's also the issue of trying to convince your doctor to add a powerful stimulant to an MAOI, since there's a contraindication. It is safe when done correctly, though (i.e. slowly and carefully).
Beyond that, my only guess would be Strattera, though I doubt its effectiveness for the problems you describe, and I'm not sure of its safety status when administered concomitantly with MAOIs.

Topamax did for me exactly what you are looking for. I honestly dont know if this is typical or not, because i took it for weight gain on Parnate, and got the effects of energy, motivation and mood enhancement without expecting it. Just my experience, and a lucky one! Good luck to you, Melodie
