My pdoc prescribed effexor for depression and I can't even tell it's doing anyhting. I have been on it for about two months although I can tell I am not interested in sex anymore(AT ALL). What is another good script for dep.? I also have no energy. I have never had any energy. Is there something that can help me have energy. I have a 4yo daughter that is bipolar and this is a lot to deal with. My nerves stay torn up(BADLY). What would be a good combo for all three symptoms?
Any replies would be appreciated.
My pdoc did give me a script of klonopin to help me sleep at night and stop the racing thoughts I would have when I tried to fall asleep. I was really stressed one day and took a klon. and it helped for @ an hour.

what about trying reboxatine? it is stronger than effexor and in my experience sent me very manic, to the point i was constantly doing stuff!! there is also a drug is amphetamine in it? could try that !!

I thought Reboxetine was NOT licensed in North America.
You must be in Europe. Its licensed there.
I wish it were available here !

Wow, you seem to be made of steel. To deal with your own depression+anxiety and also the cycles of your daughter. Give yourself a huge pat on the back !
I hear ya about Effexor. Me too Ive been on it for about 2 months and its only made me more tired, need more sleep than before and it has numbed me too. The sex-life has taken a blow (not what one wants in the second year of marriage).
I can't wait till my pdoc finally realizes all this and tries a new med.Hang in there and if you're really not getting any help from Effexor, then dump it and try something new. No point in taking chemicals that only make life worse.

What is your dose of effexor? I didnt get any relief until I got up to 300mg, then 450. As for energy, wellbutrin might help, although it might cause insomnia or make anxiety worse. It also potentiated effexor for me, and I think is kind of a common combo. Provigil might help too, which for most people doesnt worsen anxiety. Oh and if you would like to try reboxetine like someone mentioned, strattera, which is licensed in the usa for ADD (Im assuming you are in the US), is essentially the same thing and docs are using it for depression. I hope you find something to help you feel better.
