Anyone on this combo? I am taking 150 mgs of Effexor XR and was recently feeling flat and had some sexual side effects (male). Doc suggested adding 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL. It's been about 7 days for this combo, and I'm feeling hyped, kinda buzzed and uncomfortable around people. I'm a very hyper/anxious person without meds and am wondering if I should ride it out or stop the wellburin XL. I also take 1 mg of klonopin at night.

Although I'm not currently taking Effexor, I am taking Wellbutrin - I had a similar reaction to the one you describe during the first week to 10 days on it, but since then those side effects have largely, if not completely gone away (I'm in the 7th week of treatment). Of course I realize that everybody's reaction to meds is often unique, and it's difficult to qualify one individual's experience on a drug to someone else's, I thought this might be useful for you to consider since ultimately it may be worthwhile for you to ride this out for a few more days. -vm

visionmachine, How much wellbutrin do you take and what form SR or XL? What benefits are you recieving? Any more info would be appreciated

I've been on a combo of Wellbutrin and Effexor (75mg) for over a year. I had the best year of the past 8, however I've noticed some pooping out lately. I would agree with other posters, that you wait a bit before making a judgement, as some of these symptoms may abate.
I'm thinking of asking my PDoc to up the Effexor to 150mg daily w/the one Wellbutrin XL daily and would also like input from others on this combo.

Hi Torque,
I'm currently on the SR version, 300 mg/day @ 150mg bid. I have noted positive changes to my depression since starting it, however, it hasnt been a really dramatic, rapid improvement that some people seem to experience on SSRI's. I'm on Wellbutrin due to the lack of efficacy of some SSRI's (and SSNRI) for me, and the side effect profile of Wellbutrin monotherapy is much more acceptable to me than those of the SSRI class. I'm willing to give it more time to
