Trileptal effects

Posted by Tedar on December 30, 2003, at 19:49:18

I am on trileptal since early December for help with anxiety, some agitation, wound up feelings, possibly Bipolar 2. I am at 300mgs a day, still a pretty low dose. I am having really vividly bad dreams on the stuff, and so far little therapeutic effect. Also groggy in the morning from the med when I wake up. I also take Xanax 1.5mgs a day and Wellbutrin XL 150 mgs a day. Can anyone give me some personal feedback on trileptal. Good outcomes or similar side effects. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Unfortunately, i had the same experience with Trileptal. Unbelievably bad dreams that seemed to stay with me and color my mood. I also got a horrible taste in the back of my throat with it and no theraputic effect. Sorry, wish i could give you some positive feedback, but that is my experience with it. Good Luck, Melodie

Thanks for your feedback. The dreams definitely have a downer effect through the day. There is no rocket science here. That is for sure. I am going to ask the doc about Neurontin or maybe a small dose of Depakote, instead. Happy New Year...Ted
