This is some scary stuff above, but I'm not sure I buy it. I think taking these meds over the course of decades will cause problems, but just for six months to a couple of years, I can't imagine they would have a major impact.
The article doesn't seem to consider that memory, cognative function, physical well-being etc. is ALL IMPAIRED by simply having depression or any number of psychological problems WITHOUT EVEN BEING ON DRUGS.

Whoever wrote that needs to seek some help him/her? self from the big bad doctors.
Maybe an injection of Haldol and some involuntary seclusion would calm him/her down.

Heh, that was kind of amusing to read. Did you see this page? http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Lobby/5418/paranoia.html
He is a self-described paranoid :-DI can relate to his paranoia a little bit though. I always wondered about Prozac's generic name fluoxetine, and how coincidentally similar it sounds to the process of water supply flourination :-D
This is VERY interesting to listen too, also: http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/MRC/audiofiles.html#huxley
after going to the above link, click on the link titled "Program" under the Aldous Huxley link (if you have a Real Audio/Media player on your computer). It's a recording of one of his lectures, not an audio book of his fiction :)
Now, consider this: "According to a biography on Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), Eli Lilly's Man in the President's Cabinet, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., sits on both Homeland Security and National Security Councils. "HAHA!
Okay, that said, i don't think there is a conspiracy to kill people with meds, as that guy seems to think. I wouldn't use them myself if I believed that. I do think its possibly in the interest of the ruling class to keep the underclasses terrified and/or pacified (via meds), however (if you listen to that huxley link, you'll see what i mean).
American's piss so much prozac, its starting to effect aquatic wildlife, according to this report! http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/science/11/14/coolsc.frogs.fish/http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/science/11/14/coolsc.frogs.fish/

I'd like to redirect general follow-ups about conspiracies, etc., to Psycho-Social-Babble, thanks.

There probably are some medications out there that can kill you, especially if not taken properly. But one things for certain--if it weren't for my psych meds, I would have killed myself years ago. And that's no joke.
