Hi-
I have been on Wellbutrin for about two years now and I am considering going off of it. I'm not sure it's really working anymore and I was actually prescribed Buspar by a doc to see if that would help, but after reading all the posts regarding that, I think i would rather not even bother. I would like to eventually go off Wellbutrin, but I'm worried about gaining the weight back that I lost. Does that happen? Can that happen? Does anyone know? I lost weight, not a huge amount (I also work out a lot and eat very well and was increasing my workouts at the same time I started taking it so I dont know what to attribute the weight loss to) I don't want to start gaining weight all of a sudden though...can anyone help out with this? Thanks

I experienced no weight loss when starting Wellbutrin, but my guess is that if you continue your exercise and diet regimen you'll be okay. If you notice a few lbs. creeping up on you, try increasing your exercise. Also, I would trust the tape measure more than the scale in this situation - going off meds can affect our water retention, etc.

I didn't experience any weight loss either while on 300mg. Once I started taking 400mg, I started losing weight and my appetite was easier to contol.

I gained a few pounds when I went off Welbutrin. I'm also active, so I hope to lose them soon. If you eat well and exercise any gain will probably be small and temporary. You may have to watch what you eat more if Welbutrin was supressing your appetite.
This is the end of the thread.
