> I just started taking Wellbutrin XL for ADHD, Primarily the Inattentive type, last Friday. The doctor started me on 300mg a day in the morning right off with no initial period of a lower dose to start off. The first night I had horrible runny nose and all. I thought it was a coincidental sinus infection, since I woke up Saturday with that feeling. I haven't really had any other side effects except dizziness if I jump up too fast for the most part. However, although the sinus problems are bareable now just sitting at home, they are still fairly intolerable for class, etc. This is the first time I have suspected it to be related to Wellbutrin because today was the first day I had the sinus headache some people mention. Like it is more than just one part of my head, it carries through my sinuses. Now since this is only Day 4, I know that I should just put up with it and wait for these effects to subside. I am on Thanksgiving break until next Monday so I'm able to do that. I just wanted to see other people's reaction to the situation.

I personally have never heard of Wellbutrin causing your symptoms, but I'm sure they will go away. I'm wondering why you were prescribed Wellbutrin for ADD. Do you also have depression?
If you do, then Wellbutrin sounds like a good choice. If you don't, then I would wonder why you were not put on Ritalin, Adderall, or Concerta.

My problem was partially depression as well I just was not motivated to do anything. I always felt tired. Plus I wanted a non-stimulant treatment as far as tolerance and just the fact that adderall/ritalin are so close to cocaine. I had heard of little success with Straterra.

Relieving depression in and of itself will generally help with both concentration and motivation. It sounds like Wellbutrin is a good choice. The only common side effect that I am aware of with Wellbutrin is that it makes some people feel "jittery". But that side effect may go away with time.
