This is the best med I have ever been on! I can't believe how my depression has lifted. Plus just as a perk I have lost so much weight and suffer no side effects.
At one point I went off of effexor because I had to take another med for my heart condtion that interacted. It was okay, I had slight withdrawal, but it was only sweating at night and a headache. not a big deal.
Any way, i am all for effexor, so don't believe the hype! (bad hype that is) the truth is that these drugs are highly individual!

I was glad to read this post because I have never experienced any problems with Effexor, either, and I thought I was crazy. There are SO many posts on this board with people who have trouble stopping Effexor, and I don't doubt that they do. But it was weird thinking I was the only one who stopped with any withdrawal syndrome. Thanks for brightening my day.

FXR was the only AD out of seven I tried that actually lifted very severe (required hospitalization) depression. I took 300mg/day for a little over a year & tapered off without any difficulty. I think people who are having scary discontinuation symptoms tend to post more often than the folks who don't have problems stopping FXR. So it seems like we are a minority.

Glad to see positive stuff! Effexor was a lifesaver for me and I wish I never had to stop it.
