Thanks so much to those who responded to my question expressing concern about my like total lack of libido, inability to have an "o" (heck my inability to enjoy s*x altogether, yet wanting it if this makes sense - I feel the urge but carrying through on it is a whole 'nother story, and my boyfriend and I have been re-united after a long time apart).]
I've read conflicting info right on here about Zoloft - most people said it's the least likely to cause libido problems, but a couple of folks said it's the worst! Then again, quite a few people said the CELEXA is the worst. ACKKKKK ... I guess it varies by the individual. I bet there are people out there on Celexa who are doing fine in this area and people on Zoloft who have problems, etc. for any SSRI.
Anyway, not for libido reasons, but as a possible augmenter, I had tried Wellbutrin while I was on Paxil (which did not seem to have an adverse effect on my libido; it just pooped out eventually)
After just a few days on the Paxil/Wellbutrin combo, I began to feel irritable, short-tempered (which is not at all like me) and just cruddy in general. I imagine it was some kind of interaction between the two meds. I stopped the Wellbutrin and was fine again. I suppose I could try Wellbutrin alone (after weaning off Celexa), but I'm afraid based on what I've read about Wellbutrin causing agitation, heart palpitations, etc.
I also read on here that Celexa is good for anxiety and that must be true in my case because even with some anti-anxiety meds, I'm not nearly as anxious as I used to be. However, I do have that numbness and inability to feel emotions. I hate this.
I have a pdoc appointment coming up and will talk to her about it - however, I'm still titrating up on Lamictal, and both she and I agree that if I'm going to do a med change, it must be one thing at a time or if I have a reaction we won't know what caused it.
I'm also kind of afraid to rock the boat since knock on wood, the Celexa seems to be working for depression.
Anyway, that's my pathetic story. Any feedback, suggestions, etc. greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In reply to ACK-I'm now confused...(re SSRI's vs. Wellbutrin), posted by Janelle on November 6, 2003, at 12:00:04
Zoloft wasn't bad for sexual side effects with me but wasn't as effective as Celexa for depression. Wellbutrin hasn't had any adverse reactions with Lexapro, probably wouldn't with Celexa. Some do get irritated on Wellbutrin but it's often short lived and related to other factors (e.g., caffeine intake, other medicines or supplements, time you take it, etc.). The new XL version might help with that as well?? As a stand-alone, Wellbutrin might be good for pure depression but if anxiety is involved or OCD-type problems, you usually need the serotonin-affecting drugs.
Best,
