I am new to taking Lexapro. Because I am very sensitive to meds, I started at 2.5 mg. and went up to 5 (and today 7.5). Last night I had the strangest sensation.
I was sitting on a chair and suddenly it felt like a very hot heating pad was on my stomach and groin. It was like this intense sensation of heat.
Have any of you experienced this before?

In reply to Strange side-effect from Lexapro???, posted by tiredman on November 6, 2003, at 16:05:39
I had the same exact thing happen to me last week. I was sitting in my chair when all of a sudden my skin got really warm as if I too had a heating pad on my stomach. I was so shocked I had my daughter feel my stomach cause it felt so strange I wanted to know if she could feel the warmth also. She claims she could? It only happened once and it didnt last but a few minutes. I do wake up with what I would consider hot flashes at night from taking Lexapro 10mg. But they feel different cause I am usually sweaty when I wake up. And it is all over hot like you have to kick the blankets off you kind of hot. I have no clue what it could be. I will ask my doctor when I go back this month for a visit.
