Hi,
I feel terrible terrible, my mood is going from wanting to be dead to neutral then back again. Right this minute i feel okay but if I start thinking about anything I spiral out of control downward.
I was on Paxil for 2 years which worked well but made me gain so much weight, and no matter what I could not get rid of it. Which was getting to me. So my doctor said that effexor xr may work, so the first week I took 75mg and this week 150mg, but my mood is shifting into terrible moods. I am still taking 10 mg of paxil a day and then 5 mg alternating days, does that make sense? So I am in the middle of switching so to speak, has anyone hit rock bottom like this going on effexor, anyway feel angry and low. Please write me if this happened to you and did it pass? I take them both in the morning, does that make a difference? please write me and help me out if you had a hard time going on effexor and had mood swings, please tell me they pass...
(well tell me the truth)
April

i say if you're two weeks into a medication and you're feeling horrible, stop taking it. i've had to do it several times. sounds like time to cut your losses. i'm sensitive to drugs that effect norepenephrine (as effexor does). maybe you are too. good luck.

Hello April, I cannot by any means answer your questions but I can say that Effexor worked for me!! It took about 3 weeks to kick in but when it did relief was worth the wait!!! Hang Tight!!

My mother has been on effexor for 2 months now and is still experiencing the 'anger' and mood swings... I'm trying to talk her into getting her doctor to put her on a subsequent mood stablizer.
I think if after 4 weeks you are still having problems to definitely try something else... The drug is supposed to make you feel good, not miserable :)
