Amisulpride success for dysthymia/social anxiety

Posted by btnd on September 15, 2003, at 9:40:40

I've been doing another test with amisulpride - 50mg/day for about 3 weeks now.
Today is the first day I haven't used Klonopin/Ultram/Adderall/Xyrem and I'm feeling very motivated, sociability way higher than normally and social anxiety pretty much eliminated. Is it possible that amisulpride finally started working? Can anyone share their success stories with amisulpride?

Take care,
Brad

Amisulpride is working for me, but its only been 5 days @ 50mg. By "working", I mean my anhedonia is dramatically lessened, and my enjoyment of other's company, or sociability, has been enhanced. Having read studies indicating a dopaminergic receptor deficit in social anxiety, a goal of mine has been to rapidly and safely trial dopaminergics. I would chime in that the studies are right. Amisulpride, a selective presynaptic dopamine (D2 and D3) receptor antagonist at low doses, adds to my confidence by simply making me euthymic, and hence less socially anxious.

I just can't believe how well it is working! I mean it covers all of my main symptoms which are:
1. anhedonia
2. social anxiety + avoidant personality (I'm outgoing and sociable on amisulpride)
3. pessimism
4. negative self-talk
5. low self-esteem
6. depression due to above

50 mg/day.
I've used Adderall today, and it seems as it worked more powerful than normally. Right now, I'm just happy that the med is working and hope that it won't poop out soon. I recommend it to everyone who is dysthymic+social phobic.

Take care,
Brad
