Hi Ame,
was wondering...isn't 5 mg of Lexapro = 20 mg of Celexa? (thought I'd seen that here before)
Thanks!

According to the prescribing information, 5mg of Lex is roughly equivalent to 20mg of Celexa. That has been my experience too. Just recently there was a mentioning of this on the board where I proposed the thought that the r-enantiomer that's removed from Celexa to create Lexapro actually inhibited the action of the more useful s-enantiomer. Zeugma backed this up with a link to a study... the thread was last week, I believe, if you feel like digging up the study.

Hi Amester,
yeah, I recall reading that here!
I might try reducing my 5 mg of Lexapro to 2.5 mg of Lex (in addition to the 30 mg of Remeron I'm on)----- 2.5 mg of Lex sounds so puny, but I guess that would still make it about 10 mg of Celexa....that 2.5 mg (plus the Rem) may be enough for me....after only 3 days on Lexapro at 5 mg, would I get any 'withdrawal'-type reaction from cutting back to 2.5 mg of Lex?
Thanks Ame!
