Do you crave SMOKING on EFFEXOR?

Posted by zoobie on August 17, 2003, at 23:09:27

I saw an earlier post and I was intrigued to comment on it.

I quit smoking for two years, and about a week after starting EffexorXR I started smoking again. My habit became full blown for the past six months.

Interesting thing is I've been coming off EffexorXR for the past week and I noticed that I've LOST my CRAVINGS for cigarettes. I don't know if it's because of these crazy withdrawal symptoms I'm having or what.

Has anyone else craved smoking on Effexor and then not craved it after coming off the medication?

zoobie!!!! omigosh!! I can't believe I'm reading this!!! YES!! When I came off EffexorXR this summer, my cravings for cigarettes went to zilch! They tasted horrible-and the weird thing is--I started smoking when I first started taking EffexorXR. Go figure.......
Happy to talk to you more about it if you want.
Take care
Gal

Thanks for the reply Gal!

It's funny because my cravings have become less and less each day, and when I do have a cigarette it's not even enjoyable. You're right, they taste funny....not the same.

I wonder if this is a coincidence or if other people have experienced this too.

Thanks for the reply.
