Hi all,
Just curious if anyone knows of any interactions between moclobemide and Mucuna Pruriens (aka Cow-itch, Buffalo Bean, Velvet Bean, etc). L-dopa and classic MAOIs is contraindicated, and so naturally I wonder if Mucuna Pruriens (which contains L-dopa) combined with moclobemide would be a bad idea. I came across a letter from 1986 that reports a sertonin syndrome induced by L-dopa in a parkinson's patient taking bromocriptine (another RIMA). Anyway, I'm curious if anyone here has ever taken Mucuna Pruriens with moclobemide or any other MAOI. I will probably not take this herb since my interest in it is more one of curiousity, but I'd be interested in any info anyone has. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jon

When I read "bromocriptine", my mind was thinking brofaromine (which is a RIMA). So I guess that doesn't really apply then. Anyway, just wanted to correct my brain fart....
