Larry, u are a genius man. Out of all the posts I aggree with you most. First of all, I experienced benifit with Zyp. Then as time went on the sh+t hit the fan. Zyprexa was with me 3 weeks- even though half-life is between 30-5-hours it might take Nardil a couple of weeks to recover. I remomber another poster say to me, try Seroquel instead of Zyp., because it might interfere less with Nardil's dopamine effects. Well its true, DA is reduced by Zyprexa and increased by Nardil, so there in lies the prob. For some it might work but these people maybe also on other DA increasing drugs which overcomes zyprexas DA antagonism. F*#k Zyprexa, I'm staying with Nardil!!

BTW Ross C, how can YOU talk about poop-out- u switch from Nardil every 2 months????!!! Plus Nardil is good for my OCD just need an augmenter that doesn't interfere with Nardil's effects- like CLONIDINE- that potentiates Nardil's effects.
Ace, Staying with Nardil. BTW, 2 days ago I switched straight to Parnate. No washout. I love Nardil so I went back next day. No washout again!

im on your side bro! ive got 21 days under my belt now and im going the distance. im wondering if i should push it to 90mgs. cause im doing well on 75mgs.
your zyprexa issue is kind of weird. you know im on it and it really helps with anxiety etc....
when i see my doc on the 13th im going to tell him i need more dopamine in my synapes and to put me on amantadine or something like that.
try to find the best drug to raise dopamine levels

I'm happy you regained the effect. I think you now know that if you need to augment you shouldn't do so with dopaminergic meds since they might interefere with the most beneficial mode of Nardil's action for you.It's my opinion that a lot of us with TRD are dopamine deficient and that's why so many have luck with MAOI's and not the 1st or 2nd line options. Best of luck down the road!

> rossYeah sorry man. I just was a cranky punk that day. Just tell me where to go next time I'm a rude boy! Man, I reckon Amantadine OR Bromocriptine would be a great shot for you. We need stuff that works WITH Nardil. Zyprexa does intefere with Nardil, but that interference works for some. It doesn't interfere with SSRIs no where near as much cause they raise dopamine no where near the level of the mighty Nardil.
I'm going to be very wise now if I augment...
I'm thinking
1. Amantadine (like you too)
2. Bromocriptine
3. Clonidine (this can be a real cracker of a drug bro, really calms you)NONE OF THESE WILL INTERFERE WITH NARDIL.

If they ADD to the dopamine effect maybe I'll consider. But if they work against it even if only in a partial or round-about way (ie antipsychotics) I won't dare touch 'em. Actually Clonidine is my next bet - this has no interfernce, and boy this drug has some good things about it.

Exactly!!! Consider for yourself some dopamine agonists like Bromocriptine, Amantadine- these really pump up the dopamine levels.Take Care friend and thanks for the well wishes,
