I can't handle the pain till Thursday.Dinah, have you ever given thought to a trial of ECT? Its extremely useful for individuals who have mixed severe mood disorders with some thought disorder problems as you seem to have. From reading your posts, it seems you have major trouble tolerating both antidepressants and anti-psychotics. ECT could fix you up. It almost always works for problems like you have, particularly when youre unable to tolerate meds.
There is a book by Dr. Max Fink, MD titled "Electroshock: Restoring the Mind" that you would do well to read. I doubt you will get anywhere with your therapy until you tackle the fundamental underlying biological aspects of your severe mood disorder.

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature at this site:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#amazon
The first time anyone refers to a book without using this option, I post this to try to make sure he or she at least knows about it. It's just an option, though, and doesn't *have* to be used. If people *choose* not to use it, I'd be interested why not, but I'd like that redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration:

Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in my wellbeing and for apparently following my posts so closely, but I prefer to have the trained mental health practitioners who have actually seen me diagnose and treat me.
There used to be a poster here, Lost Boy in NC, who had made similar assumptions about my diagnosis and possible treatments. Coincidentally, an Amazon rater of the same name rated this book five of five stars. Perhaps you should do a search on his name(s). You might find his posts informative.
From your chosen name, may I assume you don't think highly of the mental health profession? How do you feel about combining neurology and psychiatry, Igor?

I don't know what we'd do without you.
