Remeron good for treating early morning awakening?

Posted by utopizen on July 21, 2003, at 18:29:25

Ambien's proven great to get me to sleep, but I still wake up at 4, 5, or 6 and can't go back to sleep. I'm so desperate sometimes if I wake up at 4am I'll take 5mg of Ambien (I take 10mg before bedtime). I have to wake up at 8am everyday, and usually go to sleep at 11 or 12 at night.

I don't have depression, just ADD and social anxiety. I think it's primary insomnia. I was wondering if anyone noticed their early morning awakening component of insomnia, if they had it, went away once they tried Remeron.

Yes, it most likely is. I slept through the entire night on this med. Because of its allerting NE effect, It may improve the ADD as well.

Note however, some of the other side effects may make it troublesome, like early afternoon awakenings :)
